Cape is made in collaboration with a modern Ukrainian artist Mary Gorden. Her painting “Heritage” placed on the back of the cape symbolizes not just historical trauma, but also cultural pride to be passed through future generations. The picture shows necklaces with pearls and straddles around a bullet. The threads of the necklace intertwine with each other having no end and are closed in rings, which represents the cyclical repetition of human history. Crosses in the picture are done in the form of Hutsul traditional neck jewellery and have the meaning of our connection with the culture, traditions, and beliefs of our ancestors. The bullet is a symbol of a struggle against oppression and enslavement our ancestors fought for in our brand’s homeland.
The cape can be worn over any outerwear, shirt or dress and helps you look iconic and powerful. The cape is made of delicate French black satin, trimmed with blood-red edging, and has glass pearls sewn to it, which emphasizes the picture on the back.
